The Office of Information Technology Services is seeking 9th and 10th grade student and parent feedback in Virginia’s e-Learning Backpack tablet initiative. Please take a few minutes click on either the student or parent link below. All answers will be anonymous, and kept confidential. The information we collect will assist The Office of Information Technology Services in making improvements to the program. The survey will close June 4, 2015. Click this link for the Student Survey. Click this link for the Parent Survey.
1:1 Digital Device (Tablet) Collection
Students who received a tablet this year for the 1:1 Digital Device Initiative need to return their tablet and charger to the Library beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2015 and no later than Friday, June 5, 2015. Tablets are being collected to perform summer maintenance and updates. Students who do not return their device will be held responsible for the full price of the device.
2015 Spring End-of-Course SOL tests
The 2015 Spring End-of-Course SOL make up exams for underclassmen will be held Tuesday, May 26th for science and social studies tests and Wednesday, May 27th for math tests. Expedited retakes for seniors will be held on Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29. Expedited retakes will be given for underclassmen beginning June 3. Passes will be distributed to students testing. Students should check with their classroom teachers to see if they qualify for expedited retakes.
Overdue Books
ALL library materials checked out to students are due on Friday, May 22nd. Books may be dropped off at the library before or after school. Books may also be turned into the front office. If you have lost the book, please plan to pay for it as soon as possible. Only cash or money orders can be accepted for payment. Please return your library books or make arrangements to pay for lost or damaged materials in order to clear your account and to avoid further notifications and loss of privileges.
Exam Schedule
As the end of the school year approaches, so do Final Exams.  Click here for the REVISED (4/22/15) schedule.  Students and parents are reminded that during Final exam weeks, all absences from exams require pre-approval from an administrator.  Absences compromise test security and complicate the grade reporting process.  Very few requests for make-up exams will be granted.  Acceptable reasons for missing an exam include a death in the family, a court date or a serious illness.  Please schedule doctor’s appointments and family trips around these exam weeks.
Attention Junior Class of 2016
Victor O'Neill Studios will be here from June 1st through June 4th to take your senior yearbook, cap and gown, and announcement photos.  Click here to find your picture date, time, and session number.  In the next few weeks you should be getting a picture ticket in the mail that will have all of this information on it, and it will also serve as your pass to leave class for pictures.  Please make sure you are in school on the day of your appointment and that you take your picture at the appropriate time.  All pictures will be taken in the auxiliary gym located in the back of the gymnasium.  If there are any questions, please contact Victor O'Neill Studios at 703-532-0013.
2014-15 Yearbooks
Yearbooks are in and can be picked up and purchased before and after school in the Journalism Room, 2033.  The cost is $70, cash only, so make sure you get yours soon before they are sold out as there are only a little over 100 left.
