SOL Academies Thank Dr. Dunegan!
“Community is the key to success of our future generations.” This belief held by Michael Dunegan, owner of Dunegan Orthodontics located in Manassas, is what led him to make a donation to SJHS. The donations provided to the school, which will be raffled off to the students, include a new Xbox One and a 32” flat screen TV, and they will be used to promote learning and studying through after school SOL Academies. Students attending each after-school academy are entered into a raffle for the items donated, along with movie tickets and gift cards. Mondays are currently used for the English Academy since the test was overhauled last year. The new standards for the 11th grade reading and writing exams make it a challenge, so students needing it to graduate have been taking advantage of the time offered. Tuesdays offer review for science, Wednesday is for math, and Thursdays are for social studies.
Kyle's Kamp Diamond Dream Games
The SJHS Baseball team is sponsoring Kyle's Kamp Diamond Dream Games on two game nights.  The JV sponsored game is Friday, April 25 at 6:00 vs. Osbourn Park High School.  The Varsity game is on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:00 vs. Patriot High School.  Please come out and help us help the Children's National Medical Center through the Kyle's Kamp Diamond Dream Games.  Please go to www.kyleskamp.org for more information on donations for this great cause.  Please read more in this email.
