As the end of the school year approaches, so do finals and other end-of-course tests.  Students are reminded that electronics, including cell phones, are never permitted in any testing enviroments.  The following schedules are now available:

Students and parents are reminded that during final exam weeks, all absences from exams require pre-approval from an administrator.  Absences compromise test security and complicate the grade reporting process.  Very few requests for make-up exams will be granted.  Acceptable reasons for missing an exam include a death in the family, a court date or a serious illness.  Please schedule doctor’s appointments and family trips around these exam weeks.

Students who have passed an End-of-Course class but not the associated SOL test and may need it to complete graduation requirements will be given an opportunity to retest as follows: Reading and Science - May 22nd, Social Studies - May 23rd, and Math - May 24th.  Students should receive notice before May 1st if they will be given a chance to retest.  In addition, SJHS is offering SOL Academies for most of the subjects.  Click here for more information about SOL Academies.

The Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2013 have been confirmed for June 11, 2013 at Jiffy Lube Live at 7:00 pm.  Click here to read the Document of Decorum for this event. 

During SOL testing, the library is unavailable.  However, students may return library books to the main office anytime during the day.  They may also return books at the English hall entrance to the library for 15 minutes immediately before or after school or in the 2nd floor cafeteria lobby during the first 10 minutes of each lunch block.

The PTSO elections will be held May 23rd at 7:00 at SJHS and is open to all parents, teachers and students. Please come out to participate in the Q & A and get to know the current and potential officers. As the weather turns warmer, students are reminded that they must still adhere to the PWCS Student Dress Code.  If a student is found to be wearing inappropriate attire, that student may be required to remove the offensive item, change into something appropriate or be sent home to be propery prepared for school.  Please click here to view the Dress Code.
